HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🙂
I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get this post up! Life has been extremely hectic!
I hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday season!
Whew!
What a year 2020 was, huh?
Hopefully, this year we can get things under control and get back to life. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Christmas was nice. We had a tree this year. I’m glad, because who knows what this upcoming year holds for mom, as she continues to decline.
Right now, things are fairly stable. But, in late stage dementia, things can change rather quickly.
We had two guests for Christmas Dinner, one was my grandmother. We opened gifts. I dressed Bob up in his bandana and took pictures, because he was just so cute! Though, I don’t think he thought so…lol
For the most part, it was a pretty laid back day. Nothing extreme.
Mom slept a lot of the day. That does make me sad. She was still included, though. She got gifts.
Mom seems to nap more and more. Though, she seems to really come alive in the evening.
I guess you can say her circadian rhythm is completely off. Interestingly enough, though, she will still sleep at night.
I figure, as long as she is still sleeping at night, I won’t stress.
I can’t really take her anywhere right now. I know that much of this daytime napping is because she is bored. She’s definitely not alone there. I think most of us are feeling the boredom. Especially, our loved ones.
Anyhow, all in all it was a good day.
New Year 2021
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day were both quiet laid back days.
New Year’s Eve we opened a bottle of wine and counted down the clock with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. They were a hoot!
My neighbors shot off fireworks. I got some great photos of that. It was really nice to see.
Mom slept most of New Year’s Eve, as well. That’s just her thing, lately. It is what it is. But, she eventually perked up! 🙂
My grandmother visited New Year’s Eve briefly, during the day. She visits mom twice a week. So, her visit New Year’s Eve just happened to fall on one of her regular days.
