A Scrapbook

What a wonderful way to help your loved one to travel through time in their mind of precious moments in their lives.

You could sit with your loved one, look at pictures together and make it a real bonding moment by scrapbooking What a great gift!

A Soft Blanket

If your loved one is constantly complaining about being cold and always wanting the home warmer, a nice soft

might be just thing they need.

Amazon Echo

Now, how this will be recieved is a toss up! What I mean is, if your loved one is sensitive to sounds or has a habit of hallucinating and thinking someone other than who lives in the home is there. This may not be the way to go.

However, the Echo can be tons of fun. You can ask it to look up recipes, tell jokes, set alarms, create a shopping list and more!

A Clock

Does your loved one spend a better of the day asking what time or what day it is? Well this clock might be helpful! It has extra large print. It reads the date and time. It also has 5 alarm options.

A Doll

All too often people worry that giving their loved one a doll is an insult to their loved one. I promise you it’s not! My mom has stuffed animals, pillows and dolls that she loves! Give it a try! You’d be surprised!

Stuffed Bear

My mom has this bear and she loves it! It has two buttons inside and it has a variety of sayings. His mouth moves when he speaks! One thing it says is, “Hi, baby! Cuddle time!” Everytime she hears it speak, she says, “aaaaaawwwww.” She loves to walk around with him. And he’s just the cutest thing!

A Fidget Toy

People with dementia can often develop some concerning habits. For instance, skin picking. This fidget toy *might* help with some of those habits with keeping their hands busy. It engages their senses and can be helpful with anxiety. This is something you may want to consider.

Puzzles

Puzzles are fun and engaging. Let’s face it, caregiving is hard. And sometimes, we need to do things like, cook, clean, etc…This is something that could keep them engaged, even if for a little while!

A Picture Book

This is something that can engage you and your loved one. Often, people with dementia love to look at pictures. It helps them see the things they are forgetting. And if they have gotten to a point where they don’t get out much, this could be a lot of fun for them.

Word Searches

If your loved one has always loved doing word searches and you find they are struggling with them, this could be a wonderful gift for them!

Non Skid Socks!

One common issue for people with dementia are slips & falls. Especially, if your home has no carpet! I have found these kinds socks to be amazing for my mom. She has some in a few different styles! They are amazing!

A Picture Phone

If your loved one is struggling with pressing the correct numbers on the phone, this could be a great gift! You can add pictures to it, connect the numbers with the pictures, and all they have to do is press and call.

Well, I hope this list has been helpful with ideas for gifts to get your loved ones. They are merely suggestions. But, I hope this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

Merry Christmas! ๐Ÿ™‚
